FHSU's White tops leaderboard after first day

KEARNEY, Neb. -- It's nothing new to Shelby White being at the top, and by conference standings, it's really good to be there now.
The Fort Hays State University women's golf team's No. 1 player was at the top of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Fall Invite as play ended Monday. White shot a 79 in the first round, and held a two stroke lead over the University of Nebraska-Kearney's Kami Hehn.
Fort Hays was fifth in team standings after the first day.
Junior Kelsie Paul was the only other Tiger in the top 20 after one day as she was tied for 14th with three others at 89.
