FHSU golf season ends in Super Regional

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Fort Hays State University women's golf season came to an end Wednesday in the final round of the NCAA Division II Super Regional.
The Tigers battled back from sixth place to force a tie for fifth with Winona State (Minn.) University in the final team standings at Westward Ho Country Club.
Both the Tigers and Winona fired a 1,000 for the three-round event, with the Tigers shooting their best score in Wednesday's final round. Of the three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams at the regional, Fort Hays was the top finisher.
Upper Iowa won the event with a 930, with Concordia-St. Paul second, Augustana (S.D) third.
Tiger senior Kelsie Paul finished with a 244 and tied for 13th place. Freshman Kiley Johansen finished in 26th place with a 251, while sophomore Melinda Schremmer finished at 253. The two were tied heading into the final round. RMAC Player and Freshman of the Year Samantha Nielsen finished with a 257, while senior Erika Householter did not have a three-round total after being disqualified.
