Nielsen leads the pack for Tiger women's golf

PARKVILLE, Mo. -- The Fort Hays State University women's golf team moved up from second after the first day to win the Park University Invitational on Tuesday.
The Tiger men, who led the tournament after the first day, slipped to a second-place finish.
The FHSU women finished the fall season winning the tournament by 12 strokes after trailing by three shots after Monday's first round. The Tigers shot 654, with Grand View University second at 666.
Tiger senior Samantha Nielsen, who led the field after the first day, finished second at 153. Ana Laura Gomez of Bellevue University won with a 148.
FHSU senior Jordan Nixon tied for seventh at 165, and freshman Sami Hobson tied for ninth at 167. Senior Kiley Johansen tied for 12th at 170, and junior Carmen Thompson shot 175 to tie for 19th.
On the men's side of the tournament, the Tigers led by five strokes after Monday's first round, but finished second, 13 shots behind Grand View.
FHSU senior Tom O'Keeffe, the first-round leader, shot a 5-over 75 on Tuesday to tie for second, one shot behind Yousaf Khan of Grand View.
Tiger freshman Trey Herman shot 144 for fourth place, and senior Kevin Quinley tied for 15th at 153. Senior Markus Hilger shot 154 for 18th, and junior Austin Maxwell tied for 19th at 155.
