Haynes misses finals in 200

HOUSTON -- After winning the indoor national championship last season in the 200-meter dash, Fort Hays State University's Bryan Haynes just missed qualifying for Saturday's final in the same event.
Haynes, who also qualified in the 60-meter dash, finished 10th in the preliminary round Friday at the NCAA Division II Festival, hosted by the University of Houston. Haynes ran a 21.97 second race in his heat, finishing just .03 out of qualifying for Saturday's final round.
In the 60-meter -- Haynes finished sixth overall with a time of 6.81 seconds. Haynes was the only Tiger to qualify for this year's national meet.
