ALAMOSA, Colo. -- The Fort Hays State University wrestling team qualified five wrestlers for the NCAA II Championships at Saturday's West Regional/RMAC Championships.

Four of the Tigers' five ranked wrestlers made it: senior Tommy Edgmon at 125 pounds; junior Andre Harrison at 141; senior Danny Grater at 157; senior Blake Malloy at 165. The Tigers' fifth wrestler who was ranked, junior 184-pounder Chance Rencountre, didn't advance, but unranked senior Shawn Kuhlman moved on at 174 pounds.

Edgmon and Grater were All-Americans last year, and Malloy was two years ago.

Fort Hays finished third in the team race with 94 1/2 points. Western State (Colo.) College won with 121 1/2 points, followed by University of Nebraska-Kearney with 102.

Harrison (21-4), ranked second in the nation, won the RMAC title at 141 by beating the top-ranked wrestler.

Grater finished second for the second straight year at 157. He is now 22-8 and ranked fourth in the nation.

Edgmon finished third at 125 pounds for the second straight year. He enters nationals at 19-3 and ranked third in NCAA Division II.

Malloy also finished third at 165 pounds, qualifying for nationals for the second time in his career. He was a qualifier at 174 as a junior in 2007-08. Malloy is ranked seventh at 165 pounds.

Harrison, Grater, Edgmon and Malloy received all-RMAC honors.

Going to nationals for the first time is Kuhlman, who finished fourth. Kuhlman is 21-13 on the season.

At 184 pounds, Rencountre -- still with a knee injury -- finished fifth. He finished 21-8 overall and No. 5 in the nation.

The NCAA II national tournament is March 12-13 in Omaha, Neb.
