Tiger wrestlers pick up road victory

PUEBLO, Colo. -- The No. 17 ranked Fort Hays State University wrestling team picked up its fifth straight dual victory on the road Thursday night, defeating Colorado State University-Pueblo 27-6 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.
The Tigers lost just two matches on the night with all five ranked wrestlers winning their individual matches. At 165 to start the dual, No. 8 ranked Blake Malloy defeated Pueblo's Justin Grant for the early Tiger 3-0 lead.
The only two Tiger losses came at 197 as Fort Hays' Steven Kyler lost to No. 8 ranked Tony Chavarria of Pueblo and the Tigers' Levi Younkin dropped a 3-1 overtime decision to Louise DeSantis. The Tigers move to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in RMAC duals, while CSU-Pueblo dropped to 7-5, 3-2.
The Tigers are scheduled to compete in the Kansas Cup on Sunday in Wichita.
