Tiger cross country competes at regional

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- The Fort Hays State Univeristy men's cross country team finished ninth Saturday out of 19 teams in the NCAA, Division II South Central Regional.
The Tiger women placed 12th out of 19 teams.
The Fort Hays men were paced by an all-regional performance for Alex Hendee. Hendee finished the 10K in 31 minutes, 49 seconds to finish in 11th place. Cory Keehn (33:00) and Kyle Calvin (33:26) were the next two runners for the Tigers, with Isaac Mills (34:04) and Nathan Purdue (34:25) rounding out the list.
Eastern New Mexico won the men's team title. University of Central Missouri's Laban Sialo won the individual crown in 30:33.
On the women's side, Heidi Hines and Kylie Gaughan were the top two Tigers, running in 27th and 29th, respectively, at 22:45 and 22:50 in the 6K.
Alex Nelson (23:42) and Raven Boettger (23:49) were the next two runners, with Marie Schaller (24:25) also competing.
Midwestern State (Texas) won the event with Pittsburg State University second. Abilene Christian's Chloe Susset took top individual honors in 21:37.
