Tiger volleyball team wins on road

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The Fort Hays State University volleyball team won its first road match in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association on Tuesday.
The Tigers downed Southwest Baptist (Mo.) University in four games, 3-1 to move ahead of Missouri Southern State University in the MIAA West Division standings.
Fort Hays (15-11 overall, 2-6 MIAA) fell 30-24 in the first game, but rallied back to win Game 2, 30-25. After hititng only .111 in the first game, but turned around to hit .366 in Game 2.
Fort Hays won a tight game in the third game, 30-28 and ran away with Game 4 30-18 for the win.
Senior Kellyn Thaut led Fort Hays in kills with 25. Thaut also recorded 27 digs. Junior Neeley Remmers added 19 kills and senior Leanna Roberts had 10. Junior Whitney Hoffman had 48 assists.
Fort Hays will host No. 6 ranked Truman State (Mo.) University on Saturday at Gross Memorial Coliseum. Match time is 7 p.m.
