Two former Tiger players and a former Tiger baseball coach were named this week to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Time team.

The team was selected to help celebrate the RMAC's 100th anniversary in 2009.

Selected as players from the Tigers were Jeff Bieker and Nate Field, and former coach Bob Fornelli was named the all-time top coach.

Bieker played three years at Fort Hays before being drafted into the Oakland Athletics organization.

He was a two-time Tiger All-American in 2004 and '05, and was the RMAC Freshman of the Year in 2003. he also led the nation (all divisions) in slugging percentage (1.013) and home runs per game (.53) during the 2004 season, and was the RMAC Player of the Year and West Region Player of the Year in 2005, leading Division II in home runs. During his three-year career, Bieker blasted 58 home runs, setting the program's single-season record twice (23).

He is the career leader for batting average (.421), home runs (58) and slugging percentage (.879).

Field was selected as the top relief pitcher in RMAC history, playing two seasons for the Tigers. He was named RMAC Pitcher of the Year during his senior campaign in 1998, and was a first-team All-American. He owns the Fort Hays career record for saves (23), and had 55 strikeouts and a 2.77 earned run average over two seasons. Field has been a reliever in the major leagues since 2002, playing in several different organizations, including the Kansas City Royals.

Fornelli is the winningest coach in Tiger history, guiding the Tigers to a 306-113 record from 1997 to 2003.

He also led the Tigers to six Division II tournaments in seven seasons, including a Division II title game appearance in 2000. The all-time RMAC team was selected by the representatives from the conference's baseball schools.
