Tiger baseball drops first road contest

ROLLA, Mo. -- The Fort Hays State University baseball team lost 13-3 to Missouri Science and Technology on Tuesday, the first road game FHSU has played this spring. Fort Hays, which opened with 16 straight home games, fell to 12-5, while Missouri S&T improved to 6-13. S&T scored eight runs in the second, two in the fourth and three in the seventh.
Junior right-hander David Geiger (1-1) took the loss for Fort Hays, allowing six hits and seven runs in 11âÑ3 innings. Sophomore centerfielder Nash Smith finished 2-of-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, including his fifth homer of the season.
