Tigers in eighth in Oklahoma

EDMOND, Okla. -- The Fort Hays State University men's golf team is in eighth place out of 17 teams at the University of Central Oklahoma Invitational.
The Tigers shot a 298 in the first round and a 323 in the second round for a 621. The three-round event was set to conclude today. St. Edwards (Texas) leads with a 587. Senior Kevin Quinley is tied for 27th with a 154 to lead the Tigers.
Senior Tom O'Keefe is tied for 39th with 156, senior Markus Hilger is tied for 51st with a 158, while senior Adam Gorjiyan was 65th with a 160. Freshman Trey Herman is tied for 70th with a 161.
The women's golf team is in seventh place out of 10 teams with a 338 at the Bob Writz Invitational in Lakewood, Colo., 18 shots behind leader Colorado State-Pueblo.
Freshman Sami Hobson leads the Tigers with an 83 and is tied for 12th place. Senior Jordan Nixon is tied for 18th place with an 84.
