Tiger golf teams wrap up action

The Fort Hays State University men's golf team finished in fourth place out of 11 teams at the Southwest Baptist (Mo.) University Invitational on Tuesday. The Tigers shot a 602, thirty shots behind champion University of Central Missouri. Freshman Trey Herman, a Hays High School graduate, shot a 69 on the second day after he opened with a 77. Herman shot a 146 to tie for 12th and lead the Tigers. Senior Kevin Quinley tied for 14th with a 147. The Tiger women's golf team finished in 15th place out of 21 teams at the University of Central Oklahoma Classic. Fort Hays shot a 316 in both rounds for a 632. St. Edwards (Tex.) University won the competition with a 572. Senior Jordan Nixon was the only Tiger golfer in the top-69. She shot a 75-76 to tie for 27th.
