FHSU golf teams wrap up tournaments

The Fort Hays State University women's golf team finished seventh, and the Tiger men's golf team was 14th, at the conclusion of their respective tournaments on Tuesday.
The Tiger women competed in the Thunderwolf Invitational in Pueblo, Colo.. Kiley Johansen shot 174 to tie for 15th. Samantha Nielsen was 29th at 181. Carmen Thompson was at 182, tied for 30th. Melinda Schremmer was at 196, tied for 42nd, and Chelsea Linenberger tied for 49th at 215.
Mesa State won the event at 667. Fort Hays shot 733. Kendall Martin of Adams State was the individual champion at 163.
The Fort Hays men competed at the Northeastern State Golf Classic in Broken Arrow, Okla. Kevin Quinley tied for 16th at 153. Aaron Mapel shot 162, tying for 57th. Adam Gorjiyan tied for 62nd at 164. Markus Hilger finished 76th at 173 and David George was 77th at 174.
The Tigers shot 650. Central Missouri won at 595. Josh Boswell of Northeastern State was the individual champion, winning a playoff over Justin Yoder of Central Missouri.
