Tiger softball team loses

PITTSBURG -- The Fort Hays State University softball team lost to Drury (Mo.) University, 4-3, in a game played Friday. Contests Saturday were postponed by bad weather. Fort Hays dropped to 11-8 with the defeat. Drury scored two in the second on a two-run homer and two in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead before the Tigers had one run in the fifth on an error and another two unearned runs in the seventh.
Sophomore Kayla Rupa (5-6) took the loss after working all six innings and allowing four runs, all earned, on six hits. She struck out seven and walked two. Rupa went 2-for-3, the only Tiger with more than one hit.
