Tigers take two from Truman State

The Fort Hays State University softball team rallied in both games to sweep a conference doubleheader Saturday from Truman State (Mo.) University at Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers won the opener 2-1 and the nightcap, 8-7. Fort Hays is now 25-19 overall and 4-6 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
In Game 1, the Tigers scored what proved to be the winning run in the bottom of the sixth on Terra Fraser's RBI single.
Jessica Hamilton (4-4) pitched a complete game for the Tigers, tossing a three-hitter.
In the second game, Fort Hays scored two runs in the sixth to get within 7-6, then won the game in its final at-bat. With runners on second and third and two outs, Emily Herl singled to score the tying and winning runs.
Kayla Rupa (9-7) pitched the final three innings in relief of starter Emily Rockefeller to pick up the victory.
