Tiger volleyball defeated by Washburn

TOPEKA -- The top team in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association was too much for the Fort Hays State University volleyball team Thursday night.
Washburn University swept Fort Hays in three games, 30-25, 30-22, 30-23. The Lady Blues moved to 28-1 overall and 9-0 in conference play.
Washburn extended its match winning streak to 23 and its game winning streak to 24. Fort Hays dropped to 15-13 overall and 2-8 in the MIAA.
Senior Kellyn Thaut led the Tigers in kills with 12. Junior Whitney Hoffman recorded 33 assists in the match and senior Whitney Miller had a team-leading 14 digs. The Tigers will play host to University of Nebraska-Kearney Saturday at 7 p.m.
