Nixon leads Tiger women after first day

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- The Fort Hays State University women's golf team is tied for 17th out of 21 teams after Monday's first round of the Central Oklahoma Classic.
Fort Hays shot 316, 34 shots behind leader Northeastern State. Senior Jordan Nixon shot a 75 to lead the Tigers. She is eight shots back of the leader. Junior Carmen Thompson carded a 78 for her lowest round of the year and senior Sam Nielsen fired a 79. Senior Kiley Johansen and freshman Sami Hobson each had an 84.
The tournament was scheduled to conclude today.
