Tiger women runners win at Friends

WICHITA -- The Fort Hays State University women's cross country team had another good showing Friday at the Friends Invitational.
The Tiger women won for the second straight week with 60 points. Cowley County Community College was second with 62.
Gentry Linscott was the top Tiger runner with a time of 19 minutes, 18 seconds for fifth place in the 5k race. Ali Mishler was sixth in 19:23, Hali Mobley was seventh in 19:31 and Amie Algrim was eighth in 19:32. Kelly Nuckolls was 34th in 21:01.
The Tiger men finished second with 48 points. Southwestern College won with 45.
Tanner Christensen led the Tigers, taking fourth in 26:05 in the 8k race. Jared Shillington was sixth in 26:34.09 and Riley Voth was ninth in 26:58.94.
Alex Hendee finished 14th (27:37) and Daniel Bucher was 15th (27:40).
Next action for Fort Hays is the Southern Stampede on Saturday in Joplin, Mo.
