Tiger runners fare well

LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Fort Hays State University men's and women's cross country teams were the top Div. II teams at the Texas Tech Invitational on Friday. The men's squad finished third out of 12 teams, including Div. I squads, while the women's team was third out of 10.
South Plains College won the men's division, while Texas Tech University earned the women's honors.
Senior Jay Lindal led the Tigers with a 13th place finish (26:28), while senior Aaron Yoder was 17th and Elias Diaz finished 19th. Sophomore Cole Ginther, a Thomas More Prep-Marian graduate, was 25th, while senior Dan Yoder was 29th.
On the women's side, senior Nikki Knowles was 16th (20:12), while junior Ali Mishler finished 17th and senior Jackie Jamison finished 19th. Sophomore Amie Algrim (24th) and junior Kylene Kirmer (29th) rounded out the scoring for the Tigers.
