Tiger teams picked sixth, eighth in XC

The Fort Hays State University cross country teams have been picked to finish near the bottom of the pack in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association preseason poll.
The Tiger women were picked to finish sixth out of nine teams, while the men were seventh out of eight teams.
Missouri Southern State University was first on the women's side, while Southwest Baptist (Mo.) University led the men's poll. Both schools are defending MIAA champions.
Fort Hays opens the season with its Open Range Festival, Aug. 19 to 21, then the FHSU Tiger Alumni Relay on Aug. 29.
