Tiger tennis sweeps Hastings

It was just about as perfect a way as possible to end the fall season, said Fort Hays State University women's tennis coach Brian Flax.

The Tigers rolled past Hastings (Neb.) College 9-0 on Saturday at the FHSU courts to finish 2-3 this fall.

"Nice to finish the fall season with everybody getting an opportunity to play, everybody got an opportunity to win a match," Flax said. "So now heading into the offseason everybody should be excited about looking forward to the spring."

The Tigers swept in doubles action to get off to a fast start on Saturday. The No. 1 doubles team of freshmen Brittney Ricci and Caitlyn Wark won 8-3, while the No. 2 doubles team of junior Melissa Skovira and freshman Camille Caron-Bedard won 8-1. The No. 3 doubles team of junior Laura Johnson and senior Brittney Shea won 8-2.
