Tigers' Lehman sets block record in FHSU loss

TOPEKA -- Fort Hays State University women's basketball coach Tony Hobson was pleased with the intensity and energy level of his team against Washburn University, ranked No. 11 in NCAA Division II, on Saturday.
However, the Tigers had several players sick, including junior Kelsie Sorenson, a starter who missed the game with mononucleosis. Plus, FHSU, which has struggled shooting the ball for most of the season, again had problems making shots. The depleted roster and sluggish offense led to a 75-55 loss to a red-hot Lady Blues team at Lee Arena.
"All in all, obviously the result isn't anywhere close to what we want, but as far as playing hard and the kids being into it, I liked what I saw tonight better than I have the last few games," Hobson said.
